Founded in the United States in 1896, The International Association of Operative Millers is an international organisation, which promotes the advancement of education and training in the grain milling industry.
The association is comprised of flour millers, cereal grain and seed processors, allied trade representatives and companies devoted to the advancement of technology in the flour industry. Among its members, IAOM promotes a spirit of fellowship and cooperation. The Annual MEA Region Conference gathers together all of the operative millers of the region, as well as their upstream and downstream partners. This meeting attracts the entire African and Middle Eastern regional milling sector, representing the largest worldwide wheat usage and consumption market.
Grain milling professionals consistently find that the IAOM conference experience affords them an opportunity to enhance and advance their careers through comprehensive education programs, to connect with their industry peers at exciting networking events, and to develop relationships with vendors who offer the products and services they need to efficiently do their job. Educational and technical programs presented at the conference assist millers in improving yields, productivity, customer satisfaction and safety. The programmes are presented by seasoned professionals in the field who have experienced the issues affecting millers, first-hand. In addition, the conferences include trade shows for milling professionals, typically featuring the industry’s leading equipment manufacturers and suppliers displaying milling and processing equipment and related services.
